Congress Protest: Congress MPs Refuse To Leave PM Modi's Residence | Rahul Gandhi | Kharge | Protest

Congress MPs staged a surprise protest outside the Prime Minister's residence, saying they were standing in solidarity with students over the NEET paper leak and police action during an earlier demonstration. Several leaders wore handcuffs as a symbol of their claim that democratic voices were being restrained. Senior government representatives and Delhi Police officers held talks with the protesting leaders and asked them to leave the high-security area after registering a token protest. The leaders refused to move, while police deployed personnel in riot gear and the Rapid Action Force. The bulletin said some party workers and senior leaders had been detained, released nearby and returned to the site. Police faced the prospect of removing the remaining MPs without creating visuals of opposition leaders being dragged into vehicles. The Congress also sought accountability, discussion of student issues and action over the examination paper leak.
