Typhoon Bavi brought heavy rain to Beijing after weakening into a severe tropical storm following landfall in Zhejiang province. The storm triggered widespread evacuations, with around 2.2 million people moved to safety in Zhejiang, while Fujian and Shanghai also relocated residents. Authorities warned of flooding, landslides and urban waterlogging as flights and rail services were disrupted and emergency crews worked to restore normalcy.
