Most people focus on the knife, but a knife is only as good as its sheath.
In this video, I walk through my process of making a custom Kydex sheath for a subscriber using simple tools that almost anyone can access: a toaster oven, heat gun, homemade Kydex press, drill, rivets, and a little patience. You’ll see how I create a durable sheath with excellent retention that keeps a fixed-blade knife secure, safe to carry, and ready when needed.
I’ve carried knives for decades, and while leather certainly has its place, I prefer Kydex for many applications. It performs exceptionally well in wet and humid environments, doesn’t retain moisture against high-carbon steel blades, offers outstanding retention, and holds up to years of hard use.
But this video isn’t really about Kydex.
It’s not even really about knives.
Many people find this channel because of survival, preparedness, camping, adventure motorcycles, stealth camping, minimalist gear, or outdoor skills. While those subjects are part of what I do, they’re not the reason I make these videos.
At its core, this channel is about living life to the fullest.
It’s about refusing to let fear keep you from pursuing adventure. It’s about challenging yourself physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. It’s about stepping out in faith when the path ahead isn’t clear. It’s about treating people with kindness, serving others, and leaving the world a little better than you found it.
Like everyone else, I’m still learning. I’m still growing. I want to become stronger physically, spiritually, and emotionally. I face struggles and setbacks just like anyone else, but I continue moving forward by trusting God to provide wisdom, courage, and strength for whatever lies ahead.
