Planned water outage in Swords to impact a number of neighbourhoods

Essential water works are planned for the Swords area, which may leave some households without water supply, or with limitations to their supply.Uisce Éireann is advising that from 11AM to 4PM on Tuesday, February 3 2026, essential works will take place. The outage is necessary to facilitate the works to the water network.Customers in Pinnockhill, Airside Retail Park, Nevinstown West, Fosterstown South and surrounding areas may experience some disruption to their supply.Uisce Éireann’s Sinéad Kennedy said, “We understand the inconvenience caused by an interruption to supply. We would like to thank our customers in advance for their patience and co-operation while we carry out these essential works on the network.”While the works are due to last five hours, it may take a few hours for full supply to return to impacted households. This is due to the water needing time to refill the network.Homes which are on higher ground or at the end of the network may be most impacted by a slow return to full supply.Uisce Éireann said that vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann will receive direct communications about planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
