Trump Faces Europe's NUCLEAR REBELLION, Revenge For Putin Deal? 'AMERICAN NUKES WON'T HELP'

Ten European countries are reportedly discussing a French-led nuclear deterrence initiative as questions grow over whether Europe can continue relying almost entirely on America’s nuclear umbrella. At the centre of the proposal is France’s concept of “forward deterrence,” which could eventually involve French nuclear-capable Rafale fighters operating farther across Europe. Britain, Germany, Poland, Greece and Nordic countries are among those reportedly involved in discussions. France maintains an independent nuclear arsenal, publicly estimated at roughly 290 warheads, giving Emmanuel Macron something most European governments do not possess: a deterrent that does not ultimately depend on a US president authorising nuclear escalation. But control would remain firmly in Paris. Participating countries could potentially host or support the posture, while the French president would retain the final decision over nuclear use. For Washington, the political implication is significant: European interest in a French alternative reflects growing debate over whether America’s security guarantee alone remains sufficient.
