Donald Trump’s attacks on Muslim politicians are intensifying as the November 4 midterms approach. In Michigan, Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed is facing fierce Republican criticism over alleged links to the Muslim Brotherhood, putting his faith, family background and political record at the centre of a bitter campaign fight.
Trump called El-Sayed a “jihadist,” while Republican candidate Mike Rogers denied calling him a terrorist but accused him of aligning with the Muslim Brotherhood. At a tense town hall in Caro, El-Sayed was directly challenged to “disavow the Muslim Brotherhood.” He rejected the movement and hit back at what he described as accusations of “dual loyalty.”
