Europe riots: Italy sends in MILITARY to 'DEFEND' Milan from masked gangs as city TRASHED by thugs

Italy is sending 500 military personnel to defend Milan from rioting gangs, Giorgia Meloni's government has announced.

Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini said he was turning words into deeds after a promise to crack down on the riots.

After a weekend of street violence, which saw thousands of masked thugs loot and trash stores, set fires and attack police, the government brought forward an emergency decree that would ban public gatherings, extend preventative detention to minors and defer arrest for those committing criminal damage.
