'French Mayor Beaten, EU Diplomats Attacked'! Israeli Army's 'Severe Violence' Verdict Stuns | Watch

Israeli settlers attacked members of a European diplomatic delegation in the occupied West Bank, damaging a consular vehicle and allegedly assaulting a 78-year-old French mayor near the Palestinian village of Taybeh. AFP reported that Bernard Baudoux, mayor of Aulnoye-Aymeries, was travelling with the delegation when masked settlers carrying clubs approached the convoy. Footage reviewed by AFP showed Baudoux on the ground following the incident. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. A Belgian consular vehicle also had a window smashed. The Israeli military condemned the incident as a “severe act of violence” and said Israeli rioters had attacked diplomatic representatives. The IDF said no soldiers were present when the assault occurred and that police, accompanied by troops, later collected evidence and testimony. Israeli police have opened an investigation, with no immediate arrests reported. The incident occurred during the West Bank olive harvest, a period that has repeatedly seen confrontations and settler violence.
