Iran-backed Houthis may be pursuing a more advanced ballistic missile capability, with components shipped from China reportedly found in intercepted consignments, according to a Wall Street Journal report. Conflict Armament Research identified specialised parts associated with missile motors, airframes and heat protection. The weapons under development appear to be modelled on Iran’s Kheibar Shekan missile, potentially putting Saudi Arabia and Israel within range. The supplier was not publicly identified, and the findings do not establish Chinese government involvement in the reported shipments.
