Iran has intensified its attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, with two vessels sinking and another sustaining damage amid escalating tensions with the United States. The Singapore-flagged container ship GFS Pride sank after being damaged and catching fire, while the Antigua and Barbuda-flagged bulk carrier Cape Dao also went down after an earlier projectile strike. The incidents highlight the growing risks to commercial vessels navigating one of the world's most critical energy corridors, through which around 20% of global oil and liquefied natural gas supplies pass.
