Iran has executed Ali-Sina Mostafavi, a man accused of carrying out armed attacks during the war with the United States and Israel. Iran’s judiciary alleges that Mostafavi carried out shootings in Kerman, wounded civilians, and acted in support of exiled opposition figure Reza Pahlavi and Israel.
The execution comes after human rights group Dadban warned that Mostafavi could be executed imminently. The group said he had been transferred to solitary confinement and that prison officials had contacted his family for a final visit. Human Rights for Sports had also listed him among athletes at risk of execution.
