Putin's NUCLEAR FORCE Enters Iran; Russia's Big Move After Striking U.S. Deal Amid Hormuz Escalation
Russia has more than doubled the number of technical and engineering specialists working at Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant as Moscow and Tehran continue expanding nuclear cooperation despite wider regional tensions. According to TASS, Rosatom chief Alexey Likhachev said 135 Russian specialists are now at Bushehr, compared with 63 on September 22. Nine additional Rosatom employees recently arrived to conduct scheduled maintenance on the operational Unit 1, while Russian personnel are also working across two additional reactor units under construction. Bushehr’s existing reactor was built with Russian assistance and provides around 1,024 megawatts of nuclear generating capacity. The two countries are now expanding the complex as Iran seeks greater nuclear electricity generation. The growing Russian presence also adds another dimension to any military escalation involving Iranian nuclear infrastructure. Bushehr is a civilian nuclear power facility, and Russian nationals are working there as Moscow continues calling for nuclear sites to be protected from military action.
