'U.S. TROOPS AT RISK?': Iran's IRGC Showcases 'Thunderbolt' Mine To Threaten Airborne Landings

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is at the centre of attention after footage circulating online purportedly shows the testing of the Saeqeh, or “Thunderbolt,” anti-helicopter mine. The weapon is reportedly designed to launch explosive fragments into the air, creating a potential threat to low-flying aircraft and troops attempting airborne landings. Claims suggest its effects could extend up to 500 metres, potentially complicating helicopter operations around Iran's strategically important islands and coastal positions. The footage has emerged amid heightened regional tensions, raising questions about Iran's preparations to deter airborne incursions. However, the video's precise location, timing and context remain independently unverified, and the weapon's claimed operational range and effectiveness have not been independently confirmed. Is this a demonstration of Iran's defensive capabilities or a strategic message aimed at potential adversaries? Watch the footage and the claims surrounding the Saeqeh mine.
