Iran has officially signalled a major shift in its missile strategy. Tehran says it has begun producing ballistic missiles with ranges beyond the long-standing 2,000-kilometre limit, potentially expanding the reach of Iranian missiles toward U.S. military facilities deeper inside Europe and beyond.
Iranian Armed Forces spokesperson Mohammad Akramiya said the ongoing conflict with the United States made extending missile ranges “absolutely necessary.” The move could dramatically change the strategic map, as Iran already possesses one of the world’s largest and most diverse ballistic missile arsenals.
