'Withdraw From NPT?': Putin Intervenes With BIG Message On Iran's Nuclear Move; US Shocked

Russia has responded to remarks from Iran regarding a possible withdrawal from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, or NPT. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Moscow was aware of the statements attributed to Iranian Deputy Parliament Speaker Ali Nikzad, but said they required further clarification. Peskov also said Russia would not want Iran to withdraw from the treaty and expressed hope that Tehran would remain an important and responsible party to the NPT. He added that Iran has repeatedly stated at various levels that it is not working to develop nuclear weapons. The comments come amid heightened international attention on Iran’s nuclear programme and its commitments under the NPT.
