Germany’s Growth Forecast Doubles To 1.3% | Is Europe’s Biggest Economy Finally Recovering?
Germany’s economic outlook is improving, with leading research institutes forecasting 1.3% growth in 2026, more than double their previous 0.6% estimate. Exports, government spending on defence and infrastructure, and the global AI boom are helping drive the recovery. The institutes also raised their 2027 forecast to 1.1%.
But the rebound remains fragile. High energy prices and longstanding structural problems continue to weigh on Europe’s biggest economy, raising questions over whether Germans will actually feel the recovery.
