A mysterious shipment carrying F-35 fighter jet components was reportedly diverted to Hong Kong, raising fresh concerns over the security of sensitive U.S. stealth technology. Bloomberg reports that a cockpit canopy and weapons bay door being shipped from Australia to the United States were unexpectedly diverted, with sources saying the components were coated with radar-absorbing material.
Australian Defense Minister Richard Marles said Australia is working with the U.S. and Lockheed Martin to investigate the incident, while questions remain over how the shipment ended up in Hong Kong. The development comes amid longstanding U.S. concerns over Chinese espionage targeting F-35-related military technology.
