'Why Not Give New Jersey To Israel?': Trump Ally Humiliates Him In His Own Home Over Golan Capture

Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa recalled a joke he made to U.S. President Donald Trump during his White House visit over the disputed Golan Heights. Al-Sharaa said that when Trump stated the Golan Heights belongs to Israel, he jokingly suggested giving New Jersey to Israel instead, arguing that Trump does not own the Golan Heights to give away.

Al-Sharaa stressed that, joke aside, he believes the Golan Heights belongs to its own people and cannot be abandoned or transferred by the Syrian or U.S. president. His remarks highlight the continuing dispute over the Golan Heights and the wider tensions surrounding Syria, Israel and U.S. policy in the region.
