Tributes are pouring in after a news helicopter affiliated with NBC Los Angeles crashed in Chatsworth, killing aerial journalist Eliana Moreno, veteran pilot George Marciniw and a pedestrian on the ground. Witnesses said the helicopter appeared to sway before rapidly losing altitude while covering a separate traffic accident.
Moreno, known online as “Eli in the heli,” had frequently shared her love for aerial journalism and once called it “the best job in the world.” Marciniw had decades of flying experience and often posted images from their flights over Los Angeles. The NTSB and FAA are investigating what caused the fatal crash.
