A Russian drone attack struck a passenger train near Ukraine’s border with NATO member Poland, intensifying fears over the widening reach of Moscow’s strikes. The train was hit just two kilometres from the Polish border after a diplomatic train carrying European officials had travelled along the same route. Ukraine’s railway operator said the diplomatic train may have been the intended target, while Kyiv warned that Russian attacks are moving dangerously close to EU and NATO territory.
