'Like our Super Bowl': Thousands attend Comiccon

Tens of thousands of pop culture fans are descending on the Cohere Centre this weekend for the 12th annual Ottawa Comiccon. CTV's Kimberley Johnson speaks with attendee Anna Hopkins, who says she spent weeks crafting her Joker costume from thrifted items for her birthday. Event spokesperson Jason compares the atmosphere to the Super Bowl for pop culture fans, noting the event offers interactive activities and the chance to meet celebrity guests like Stargate actor Lexa Doig. The convention is also a major boost for local businesses, with the Seaway Crafters Guild owner stating the weekend represents almost a month's worth of regular store sales.
