An Iran-linked group allegedly used Anthropic’s Claude AI to conduct reconnaissance on U.S. Navy forces, according to a report released by the AI company. The group reportedly used publicly available data, satellite imagery, military photographs and transponder information to track U.S. naval movements, compile targeting material and examine potential weaknesses in shipboard communications systems. Anthropic said it disrupted the activity and shared information with U.S. government authorities.
