Predator 33 Y/O Uncle Has No Idea He's Getting Arrested for Impregnating His 16 Y/O Niece
Johnathan Quiles was a 33-year-old diesel mechanic, husband, and father from Jacksonville, Florida. He was also a predator who had been sexually abusing his 16-year-old niece Iyana Sawyer for years. When Iyana became five months pregnant with his child, she disappeared on December 19, 2018 — the last day of school before Christmas break.
For nine days, detectives worked the case as a runaway. Then the family found a four-page love letter on Iyana's laptop. The letter described a sexual relationship with a man she called "Jose." A second niece told police that Jose was Uncle John.
When the DNA came back on a prior sexual-assault kit and matched Johnathan Quiles at 100%, detectives brought him in. What they hadn't told him was that hours earlier, his own brother — calling from New York — had already told police exactly what Johnathan had done to Iyana and where he had put her body.

Johnathan Quiles was convicted in September 2023 on first-degree murder, first-degree murder of an unborn child, and battery. He is serving life without parole at Cross City Correctional Institution in Florida.
Iyana Sawyer's body has never been found.
