Russian drone strikes Ukraine's security service HQ in central Kyiv

A police car blocks the road to the headquarters of Ukraine's SBU security service in central Kyiv, hit on Friday afternoon by what appeared to be a Russian drone. The strike is unprecedented, not only for the target but because it happened in the very heart of the capital.

It comes after nine consecutive days of near-constant Russian attacks, with air raid sirens and waves of drones striking targets including warehouses, destroying more than 90 percent of Ukraine's modern food storage capacity. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the SBU chief following the strike and vowed to retaliate against Russia in kind.
