Iran has accused the European Union of surrendering its sovereignty to Washington by supporting US sanctions against Tehran. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei questioned how Brussels can back unilateral American measures while maintaining the EU Blocking Statute designed to resist extraterritorial sanctions. His remarks come amid escalating US-Iran tensions following American strikes on Larak Island near the Strait of Hormuz, which Iranian media said killed two people and injured two others.
