It's Saturday, you drag the hose around back, click the nozzle to the strong jet, and go at your AC like you're washing mud off a truck. I get it, it feels productive. But that's the exact move that turns a free chore into a $900 repair, and it's the way almost everybody does it. Twenty-five years I did this, and I could spot it from the driveway.
