India has launched its first indigenous, non-GMO, high-expansion popcorn maize hybrid seed varieties, Krisna459 and Godari234, in Andhra Pradesh’s Eluru district. Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan unveiled the new seeds at the Gourmet Popcornica facility in Musunuru on August 24. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Governor S. Abdul Nazeer were also present at the launch.
