Iran's Big Air Kill? America’s E-3 Sentry 'VANISHES' Over Hormuz After Emergency 7700 Alert
An American E-3G Sentry AWACS aircraft reportedly transmitted the emergency 7700 squawk code before disappearing from flight radar while operating over the highly volatile Strait of Hormuz, as per RT News citing flightradar 24 imagery. The emergency code signals a serious in-flight problem, but it does not by itself confirm that the aircraft was attacked or shot down. The exact cause of the incident and the final status of the aircraft remain unverified. The E-3G Sentry is one of the US military’s most important airborne surveillance and command platforms, capable of tracking aircraft, missiles, drones and ground targets while relaying critical battlefield information to commanders.
