We spent 3 days and 2 nights deep in the rainforest along the Kinabatangan River in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo searching for some of the rarest and most elusive wildlife on Earth. Over 4 river cruises, 2 night walks and a jungle trek, we tracked down wild proboscis monkeys, saltwater crocodiles, a rhinoceros hornbill, wild Bornean pygmy elephants (including one bathing right in front of our boat), and a fully wild orangutan high in the canopy.
This is one of the most incredible wildlife experiences we've ever had — and we weren't prepared for how much we'd see in just a few days on this river.
