A political controversy erupted in Tamil Nadu following the detention and station bail of DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin over an FIR alleging misogynistic remarks targeted at actor Trisha Krishna during a Thanjavur rally. Stalin denied targeting the actor, claiming his statements pertained to the Cauvery water dispute and alleging political vendetta by Chief Minister Vijay's administration. While former NCW member Khushbu Sundar criticized the remarks, DMK MP Dr Kalanidhi Veerasamy defended Stalin, stating no names were cited and alleging political diversion ahead of the Tamil Nadu assembly budget session. The Madras High Court intervened amid state-wide protests. Separately, opposition MPs disrupted Parliamentary proceedings, demanding a statement from Home Minister Amit Shah regarding a Delhi protest march crackdown and Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust allegations. In Jharkhand, student protests over exam paper leaks reached their eleventh day with demands for a CBI probe. Meanwhile, Bihar MLA Prashant Kishor attributed his Bakipur election win to dissatisfaction with the BJP, and NHAI initiated an inquiry into Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway repairs.
