Shashi Tharoor Reacts To Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh's Acquittal | Parliament Monsoon Session | N18V
Senior Congress MP Shashi Tharoor reacted after Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh's acquittal, stressing the importance of debate and dissent in Parliament.

Speaking to reporters, Tharoor said that even when the government has a majority, the Opposition must place its concerns on record so there is a documented legislative history that may be relevant in the future.

A Delhi court has acquitted former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh in the alleged sexual harassment case involving women wrestlers, including Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Ashwini Panwar of the Rouse Avenue Court pronounced the verdict, acquitting both Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and Vinod Tomar after hearing arguments from the prosecution, complainants, and the defence.

Reacting to the verdict, Brij Bhushan Singh said, "The court has acquitted me. I had said that day that I would hang myself if found guilty. Today, I am walking free after being acquitted."
