Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the inauguration of the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport in Bhogapuram, Andhra Pradesh, said the government has moved away from naming airports after a single family.
Highlighting the NDA government's approach, PM Modi said the airport in Ayodhya was named after Maharishi Valmiki, the airport in Punjab after Sant Ravidas, and the new Bhogapuram airport after Alluri Sitarama Raju, honouring national icons from across India.
