Pakistan Gang War Returns? Uzair Baloch's Brother Zubair Shot in Karachi Attack

A shocking targeted shooting has rocked Karachi after Zubair Baloch, the brother of alleged Lyari gang kingpin Uzair Baloch, was seriously injured in a gun attack outside his residence in the Chakiwara area.

According to eyewitnesses, motorcycle-borne gunmen opened indiscriminate fire before fleeing the scene. Zubair Baloch sustained critical injuries to his chest and abdomen and was rushed to Karachi Civil Hospital for emergency treatment. Two bystanders were also injured, while panic spread across the locality.

Police have launched an investigation and are examining multiple angles, including gang rivalry, personal enmity, and organized crime connections. Zubair Baloch was previously arrested in several criminal cases in 2012 and was released from prison in January 2025.
