500g flour
1.5 tsp bread soda
2 tbsp dillisk
1 onion
2 garlic cloves
85g butter
1 egg
275ml buttermilk
100g cheddar
Method
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Toast dillisk briefly and crumble.
Fry onion and garlic until soft, then cool.
Mix flour and bread soda, rub in butter.
Add cheese, dillisk and onion mixture.
Mix egg with buttermilk and add to dry ingredients.
Bring together into dough, shape into circle and cut into triangles.
Brush with egg and bake for 15–20 minutes until golden.
