Three teen boys arrested after early morning car chase through Dublin and Louth

Three teenage boys have been arrested after an early morning car chase through Dublin and Louth.A car with three occupants failed to stop for gardai on the Whitehall Road in north Dublin just after 4:30am this morning. Officers proceeded with a containment operation, chasing the car up the M1 before stopping it in Co Louth just over an hour later.The three male teens were all arrested, and have been brought to a garda station in the city. The M1 has fully reopened to traffic this morning.A garda spokesman said: "Shortly after 4:30am on Monday 2nd March, 2026 a car with three occupants failed to stop for Gardaí in the Whitehall area of Dublin 9. A lengthy managed containment operation commenced and the car was successfully intercepted in County Louth shortly after 5:30am."Three individuals, all male and aged in their teens were arrested under the Road Traffic Acts and brought to a Garda Station in the Dublin Region. Traffic on the M1 motorway was affected for time but has since fully reopened to traffic."There was no injuries reported.
