Dublin weather: 'First full dry day of 2026' coming this week in positive forecast
The "first full dry day of 2026" could finally arrive this week as weather boffins and Met Eireann agree on a positive forecast for Dublin and Ireland. The first day of March has been breezy, showery, and dull so far - much like the month that preceded it. But there is, finally. some proper positivity in the weather forecasts for the upcoming week, with high pressure becoming more dominant and bringing dry and bright conditions overall. And Alan O'Reilly of Carlow Weather is hopeful of a big breakthrough on Tuesday. He said: "A showery and breezy Sunday morning with wet and windy weather to come today as more heavy rain moves in from West, and also strong gusts this evening."Windy in the northwest Monday with showers before a lovely sunny Tuesday, with our first full dry day of 2026 hopefully." And Met Eireann seem to agree, forecasting a "dry day with good spells of sunshine" nationwide. For the rest of today, it will remain dull - and will become windier through the day, as southerly winds increase fresh to strong and gusty. Temperatures will hit highs of 12C.Tonight will see some patchy rain as the night goes on, with lowest temperatures of 4C.
