Much loved Dublin bar to reopen its doors in new location
Beloved Dublin bar Token is set to reopen its doors next month, in a new location and under new management.
The bar, which was popular for its vintage arcade games which patrons could play while having food and a drink, shockingly closed its doors back in June 2024 due to rising costs, despite being ‘fully booked’ for most of its operating time.
Despite the shock of closing and with the original owners saying that the odds of them reopening were slim, those slim odds appear to have landed; with the bar teasing that they’ll be reopening next month.

Taking to their Instagram page on Tuesday (November 18), the barcade announced that they’ll be opening on December 10 in the heart of the Irish Financial Services Centre (IFSC) in Dublin City Centre, with their old games and some new games set to be added, as well as karaoke, sports, interactive darts, and an outdoor area.
‘New level, new location,’ the bar wrote. ‘Did you miss us? We’re back after a brief loading screen, in a new location! Revamped menu, even more arcade games, plus karaoke, sports, interactive darts, an outdoor area, and a bigger space in the heart of the IFSC.
‘It’s GAME ON from December 10th. Ready player one?’

It is understood that Bodytonic Music, who own and operate other popular haunts such as WigWam and The Bernard Shaw, are the new operators of Token.
The bar announced back in May of 2024 that they’d be closing their doors permanently that June, saying at the time: ‘After 8 wonderful years, we will be closing for good on June 16th. Though often fully booked, we can’t justify raising prices further to meet rising costs. We may do it all again sometime in the future, but chances are slim and there is no plan to reopen.
‘We’ve made amazing memories with our guests and received strong community support both supportive during tough times and sometimes quite critical – but regardless, it felt good to know that people cared about what we were trying to do.’
More info about Token’s upcoming re-opening can be found on their website, while their announcement video can be watched below.
