‘LEAVE NOW!’: U.S. Embassy Orders Staff To FLEE Saudi Arabia As Houthis ‘HAMMER’ Riyadh Again
Saudi Arabia says its air defences intercepted two Houthi weapons threatening different parts of the kingdom — a drone detected over Riyadh province and a ballistic missile heading towards southern Saudi Arabia. The Saudi-led coalition says both incoming weapons were detected and destroyed. Officials have not identified the intended target of the drone in the information released so far, but its presence over Riyadh province again demonstrates the long-range threat confronting the kingdom. The capital lies hundreds of kilometres from Yemen. The ballistic missile, meanwhile, was heading towards Saudi Arabia’s southern region, much closer to the Yemeni battlefield. The interceptions come as fighting between the Houthis and Saudi-backed forces continues inside Yemen. The immediate attacks were stopped, according to Riyadh, but Saudi air defences were once again forced to respond simultaneously to threats deep over the capital region and along the kingdom’s southern front.
