TBN Israel’s Yair Pinto and Mati Shoshani report on the Israel-Iran and regional war.
After 18 hours of negotiations in Lucerne, Iran is claiming its first dramatic victory over Washington. The mediators, Qatar and Pakistan, announced a roadmap for resolving disputes and regional stability — but the talks were shaken by militant threats, Iranian walkouts, and President Trump’s warning that if Iran closes the Strait of Hormuz, the United States may take control of it.
Iran threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz and demanded that Trump stop threatening the regime as a condition for continuing negotiations. Trump responded with a direct warning: “If you close it, you will not have a country.” The agreement now includes a direct communication line for managing incidents in Hormuz for 60 days, while Iran promises safe passage for commercial ships — even as the Revolutionary Guards continue to use the strait as leverage.
Iran claims the United States approved a sanctions waiver for oil sales and opened the path to release Iranian frozen assets. At the same time, Washington is trying to prevent the negotiations from collapsing, while Tehran uses threats, pressure, and controlled chaos to improve its position at the table.
Iran is now trying to save Hezbollah through the U.S. negotiations. A de-escalation cell mediated by Qatar and Pakistan is being established to address the fighting in Lebanon, and Iran is demanding an Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made clear that Israel will remain in the security zone as long as necessary, and that there will be no withdrawal that endangers the residents of northern Israel.
Netanyahu said that if terrorists were threatening the United States with rockets, kidnappings, and murder from across the border, America would not wait — it would remove the threat. Israel is applying that same logic in southern Lebanon, preserving operational freedom of action against Hezbollah and refusing to allow Iran to turn Lebanon into a bargaining chip.
While Iran negotiates abroad, the regime is crushing its own people at home. Tehran is using charges like “espionage” and “enmity against God” to execute young people, political activists, and ethnic minorities, while using torture and false confessions to break opposition inside the country.
Iran is accusing Israel of eliminating Dr. Ali Ehsanian, an Iranian AI pioneer who previously cooperated with the Defense Ministry in Tehran and died under mysterious circumstances in Nice, France. Yair Pinto and Mati Shoshani break down why Tehran may be using the accusation to fuel paranoia, fear, and internal repression.
