ASP Anil Maraj, along with Sgt. Sunil Ramoutar and other investigators from the Region 3 Homicide Bureau of Investigations were seen at the suspect’s dickie trace palo seco beach road home on Tuesday.
CCTV footage showed the moment the suspect’s car entered Los Iros Road, Erin, to drop off 12-year-old mercedez layne, but abruptly stopped near a supermarket. The driver turned around, left the street and headed toward Carapal Road.

One year later: father-killer found dead in prison cell after alleged overnight beating by fellow inmate
• A prisoner who was on remand for the murder of his elderly father has been found dead inside a cell at the maximum-security prison in Arouca following an alleged overnight assault by another inmate.
• The deceased has been identified as Christopher Banfield, 48, who was charged last year with the brutal killing of his 75-year-old father, Peter Banfield, at their Flanagin Town home.
• Banfield's body was discovered around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, during routine cell checks at the maximum-security prison.
Curepe man dies days after being shot multiple times following dispute with sister's boyfriend— reported land dispute
• A 54-year-old Curepe man has died one week after he was shot multiple times during a confrontation allegedly involving his sister's boyfriend.
• The deceased has been identified as Inshan Goolsir, of Abdool Lane, Curepe. Goolsir succumbed to his injuries at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, mt. Hope, on Saturday, June 6, after spending several days hospitalised.
• The suspect later surrendered to police at the St. Joseph police station and remains in custody.

• A 43-year-old Champ Fleurs man was shot dead while sitting inside his vehicle on the night of friday june 5th 2026 gunmen opened fire in a brazen attack along mt dor road.
• Dead is Calvert Junior Spence, also known as "Cali", of Hilltop Lane, Champ Fleurs.
Third victim dies following Malick mass shooting; police explore gang link
• A triple murder investigation has been launched after a third victim succumbed to injuries following a brazen daylight shooting in Malick that left five people shot, including a woman who was grazed by a bullet.
• The latest victim has been identified as Keron Paul, who died while receiving treatment at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, mt. Hope.
• The other deceased are Oren Danglade, also known as "grimey," who died at the scene, and Akins Phillip, who later died at the Port of Spain General Hospital.
• The deadly attack occurred shortly after 1 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Upper Seventh Avenue, Malick.
Deadly clash outside Arima bar leaves one man dead, another in custody
• A confrontation outside a bar in Arima ended in tragedy after a man was fatally stabbed following an altercation that reportedly escalated into violence.
• Dead is Wilfred Madoo, 37.
• Two days later, a man presented himself to the arima police station, where he was informed of the ongoing investigation and subsequently detained pending further enquiries.
Vehicle bursts into flames after violent highway crash; driver killed
• A 40-year-old Tunapuna man died in a fiery crash along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway after the vehicle he was driving lost control, plunged into a ditch and burst into flames.
• Dead is Jason Small of Sheriff Street, Tunapuna.
