11 people killed after skydiving plane crashes in France
French officials have confirmed that 11 people were killed in a skydiving plane crash on Sunday morning.
The incident occurred in northeastern France, with the plane belonging to a parachutist school.
The crash is believed to have happened at around 11am in a town called Tomblaine, near the city of Nancy.

Local officials said that the plane’s pilot, five skydiving students and five instructors all died in the incident.
France’s interior minister is reportedly heading to the scene.
Local media reported that the plane had taken off from the Nancy-Essey airfield when it crashed.

Police have urged the public to avoid the area around the airport in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department.
France’s BFMTV has reported that the president of a regional nurses’ organisation said that the passengers were ‘half nurses and half instructors’ and the skydiving trip ‘seems to have been a hazing ritual’.
