Liverpool fans brutally boo Arne Slot as writing could be on the wall for Dutchman
Liverpool fans booed manager Arne Slot after he substituted Rio Ngomoha during The Reds’ 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Anfield.
Liverpool got the scoring underway after only a few minutes as Ryan Gravenberch whipped his shot into the top corner as the home side looked to win to secure Champions League football next season.
However, Chelsea, who have lost their last 5 games in the Premier League, scoring only once in that time, equalised after Enzo Fernandez’s free kick evaded everyone in the box and past Giorgi Mamardashvili in the Liverpool net.

And it was the London side that began getting the upper hand as the second half began, and temporarily took the lead as Cole Palmer scored in front of the away fans, but VAR would rule it out for an offside from Marc Cucurella.
Liverpool eventually weathered Chelsea’s storm, but as they were chasing a winner, Arne Slot made a substitution that caught the ire of the Anfield faithful.
The Dutchman took off 17-year-old winger Rio Ngumoha for the returning Alexander Isak. Ngumoha, despite his age, has been a bright spark in his brief minutes for Liverpool, with fans clamouring for Slot to give him more opportunities.

He had impressed against Chelsea, but when he was subbed off, the Anfield crowd booed Arne Slot in a telling sign of the atmosphere around the Premier League Champions.
It’s been far from the season Liverpool fans were hoping for after spending big money on the likes of Wirtz, Isak, Ekitike, Frimpong and Kerkez, and now many fans and pundits are turning on Slot, with Jamie Carragher being a prominent voice questioning Slot’s tactical decisions this season.
Today’s booing is a new low for Arne Slot at Liverpool, as he’s likely lost the fans now. Some fall from grace after lifting the league 12 months ago.
