Muireann O'Connell teases THAT Ireland AM moment as guest returns
Muireann O’Connell has teased that the Ireland AM hosts will be discussing the most iconic moment in the show’s history, when the guest behind the moment returns.
Author Séamas O’Reilly was just five years old when he and his 10 siblings… sadly lost their mum — with Tommy Bowe now infamously interjecting ’10 siblings!?’ before he realised what they were discussing.
Of course, the gaffe has gained international notoriety, with Tommy not being known for helping Ireland win its first 6 Nations grand slam in over six decades, or being third on the all-time try-scoring list — but rather this hilarious moment.

With Séamas’ book Did Ye Hear Mammy Died becoming a bestseller, his latest book Prestige Drama was published just earlier this week — with Ireland AM host Muireann O’Connell sharing a photo of her reading the book to her Instagram story.
‘I haven’t stopped laughing,’ she wrote. ‘Darker than death but so funny with it.’
She then teased that Séamas would be appearing on Ireland AM next week to discuss the book, but added: ‘we will have to bang on about 10 siblings for a while, god bless him. Sorry Séamas!’

While Tommy is probably waiting with bated breath to discuss the moment with the subject of the initial interview, he actually ended up recreating the meme earlier this year when his former co-host Clare McKenna — who was introducing Séamas at the time — returned to the couch.
After being asked by Tommy if it follows her around ‘as well,’ Clare responded that it does, in fact, follow her, telling her former co-host: ‘Everywhere. Even my kids send it back to me.‘It’s in lots of compilations, isn’t it? About funny TV moments or funny Irish memes,’ Clare added, before saying that her son didn’t believe her when she told him just how viral it went.

‘My son’s 14, and he says: “you didn’t really go viral. It only went around Ireland.” And I’m like: “It went global, okay!? It went really viral.”‘
While Tommy probably would argue that his only regret was never letting Clare finish the exposition around Séamas and his — say it with me — 10 siblings!?, Clare admitted that the only regret she had was her choice of outfit.
‘The gúna. It’s not what I wanted to be wearing to go viral,’ Clare joked, before Muireann argued: ‘it’s fine!’ before admitting that the wrap dress was just one of those things people didn’t enjoy wearing on TV.
‘But it was the handiest thing to put on the mic packs or whatever,’ Muireann admitted. ‘So you’re like, you’re everywhere with that dress.’
‘Yeah well… it’s the one that won’t go away,’ Clare added, before Muireann asked: ‘you burned it, didn’t you?’ which Clare confirmed with a laugh. ‘It’s gone gone gone.’
