DC Officially Confirms Poison Ivy's Design For Batman's New Appearance
Batman's new release features several villains from DC Comics, with one of them being Poison Ivy, and the beloved character sports an exciting modern design that is unique to the project. Batman's villains are not only among DC's best, but also the best in comics as a whole. It helps that the Dark Knight is extremely popular and complex. By making Batman so layered and dark, DC ends up having to put him up against threats that measure up to the hero in exciting ways. This leads to highly intelligent, frightening, manic, or vibrant villains emerging to take on Bruce Wayne. Across Batman's long list of movies and TV shows, many of them have come to life in live-action and animation. Some of Batman's most popular villains include the Joker, Harley Quinn, Bane, the Riddler, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, the Penguin, and more. At the time of writing, there is no indication that Poison Ivy will appear in The Batman — Part II's story — the film just had its first snowy look revealed — or in the DC Universe's The Brave and the Bold film, which seems perfect for Ra's al Ghul, given Damian Wayne's role. That said, fans of Pamela Isley can turn to animation to get more of the DC villain. In Batwheels season 3, Poison Ivy returns with an exciting and modern design that differs from her classic look. She is helped by Batman in a surprising way in the 2026 DC release, which has more episodes on the way.
DC Has Revealed What Batwheels Season 3's Poison Ivy Looks Like
Poison Ivy in Batwheels
Batwheels is an animated DC series that features the Bat-Family — Batman, Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing, and more — but does not focus on them. While the fan-favorite heroes are present, and Ethan Hawke's Batman even gets a lot to do, including exciting fights with villains, the Cars-like project shines the spotlight on the superheroes' vehicles. One of the season 3 debuts was that of the Tumbler from The Dark Knight franchise. Batwheels season 3 began airing in December 2025on HBO Max, with new episodes set to arrive on May 22, the day Batwheels season 3C drops on the streaming service. In episode 9, "Batdraft," Poison Ivy returns to the animated DC series, and she looks amazing. Ivy has red hair in a bob that includes shiny, fluorescent green tips. This is a nod to her classic color scheme.
Poison Ivy's suit in Batwheels season 3 is fully green, mixing darker tones with the same bright green from her hair. Different from other adaptations, her skin is white, not green. In Batwheels, Poison Ivy needs Batman's help. The Dark Knight uses his firefighter training alongside the sentient monster truck Buff and his dog, Ace, to stop a fire created with magic at Poison Ivy's lair.
How Batwheels Season 3's Poison Ivy Compares To Other Versions Of The DC Villain?
Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy pointing at her hair in Batman & Robin (1997)
Poison Ivy's hair in the Batman TV show looks somewhat like that of Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn in the old DCEU. However, instead of two colors on ponytails, like Harley's blue and pink style, the two sides of Ivy's hair are bright green, contrasting nicely with her fiery red hair. The animated version of the character also looks completely different from Uma Thurman's live-action take on Poison Ivy from 1997's Batman & Robin. In the movie, Ivy had a sleek green bodysuit and long red hair.
Batwheels season 3's Poison Ivy design sees her with shorter red and green hair, as well as a suit that is filled with textures. It is far from the smooth look of the live-action costume and much more plant-like. With a new batch of Batwheels episodes arriving this month on HBO Max, it stands to be seen if Poison Ivy will return and whether the villain will sport an updated design in the Batman series.
