A café, bar, library, gallery, and garden all in one SET Social is a community-led arts and social club and cultural space in Peckham, and is the place to be if you’re in need of a third space. It’s run by SET, a London-based arts organisation and registered charity whose mission is to “support artists and activate underused buildings across the city, creating accessible space for experimentation, collaboration and grassroots culture.”It opened in 2023 and since then has grown into a bustling neighbourhood spot and low-cost members’ club (only £12 a year). SET Social runs many events including DJ nights, exhibitions, reading groups and the popular food and film night Paratha Club, which celebrates Indian food, chai and cinema. It also runs the annual SET Film Festival, and submissions are open now.Local residents can also connect and get creative at SET Social’s new series of free Friday workshops, and there’s a community garden where people can come together around food growing and shared learning.Looking for somewhere creative to hang out that’s accessible and affordable?
