TOAD Bakery Is Opening a Second Site
It’s spawning a siblingOpened in Camberwell in 2022, TOAD Bakery quickly became one of the most hyped bakeries in London, with queues regularly forming their excellent breads and pastries, and it’s remained just as popular as ever, winning ondon’s Bakery of the Year at the National Bakery Awards 2025. That success has allowed founders Rebecca Spaven and Oliver Costello to expand, with the pair opening a second bakery in Deptford this June. The Deptford site will be larger that the original TOAD, allowing it to function as a central bakehouse for both locations. The menu will feature specialist sourdough, signature creations like the Everything Bagel Croissant and the Saffron & Vanilla Teacakes, seasonal specials and collab bakes. More space means that the team will be able to offer more opportunities for aspiring bakers to hone their craft and develop their careers.Speaking about the new opening, Rebecca and Oliver say, “Having outgrown our tiny bakery in Camberwell, we are so excited to build on all that we’ve learnt there and open a second site in the heart of Deptford. Moving most of our production to this new site will give the whole team more space to create, develop and bake for a new crowd.”With TOAD’s Camberwell neighbours Mondo Sando recently opening a new spot in Deptford, clearly this SE London neighbourhood is the place to be.Key InformationOpening date | June 2026Address | St Paul’s House, Deptford High Street, London, SE8 4BXFor more information | @toadbakery
