Machete horror as four children ‘brutally stabbed’ at Kampala preschool
Four young children have been "brutally stabbed and killed" at a preschool, authorities have confirmed.The victims, a girl and three boys, were attacked at the Ggaba Early Childhood Development Program School in Kampala’s Makindye Division, Uganda. Police confirmed a 34‑year‑old man has been arrested, adding "the motive behind the killings is still under investigation".Detectives are continuing to examine the scene, with a police spokesperson stating further information would be released as the investigation develops. The man gained access to the school under the guise of pretending to be a parent, according to Uganda's Daily Monitor newspaper.He is alleged to have first entered the school via an office where, briefly speaking to an administrator in charge before stepping outside, locking a gate and starting his horrific attack.Video footage aired by local broadcaster NTV showed some parents in tears after rushing to the school following the incident. Officers can be seen in the videos firing into the air to disperse an angry crowd that gathered near the school, reportedly trying to lynch the suspect."We confirm a tragic incident at the Ggaba Early Childhood Development Program school, in Makindye Division Kampala City where a male suspect brutally stabbed and killed four juveniles," the Uganda Police Force confirmed in a statement posted on X, formerly Twitter."The suspect has been apprehended, and the motive behind the killings is still under investigation.
