ThunderPlus to build 1.6 MW charging hub in India
The company is constructing the new charging hub on a one-acre site in Tadepalli in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh. The facility will serve EVs travelling on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada corridor, a key transportation route in southern India.The new charging hub will cater to a wide range of EVs, including cars and two-wheelers, as well as buses and other commercial vehicles. ThunderPlus has already installed seven 180 kW chargers, each with two connectors, allowing up to 14 cars or commercial vehicles to fast-charge simultaneously. For customers who are not in a hurry, ThunderPlus has also installed five 7.4 kW AC chargers.For electric two-wheelers, the new charging hub offers two 6 kW chargers. ThunderPlus will also set up battery-swapping infrastructure at this site, although it has yet to reveal further details. The company also plans to install additional chargers in the future. Once fully operational, the site is expected to accommodate more than 150 EVs simultaneously, including over 50 buses and more than 100 cars.ThunderPlus is setting up a comprehensive facility that extends beyond charging and battery swapping. The company will include bus servicing and repair bays, spare parts storage, vehicle washing and maintenance areas, as well as boarding and rest facilities.
