Disgraced film mogul Harvey Weinstein slams Gwyneth Paltrow over massage proposition
Disgraced film mogul Harvey Weinstein has slammed Gwyneth Paltrow over a massage ‘request’ he made towards her when her career began.
Weinstein, former co-founder of Miramax, was convicted of three counts of rape in California and one count of criminal sexual activity in New York, over a sustained period when he was one of the most powerful men in Hollywood.
Over 100 women accused Weinstein of sexual assault, harassment, and rape throughout his career in 2017, eventually sparking what became known as the #MeToo movement. He would eventually be convicted of criminal sexual activity in New York, where he’s currently in prison, and will then serve a 16-year sentence in California for rape.

Speaking from the notorious Rikers Island in Queens, New York, Weinstein lashed out at actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who said that Weinstein propositioned her for a massage as she was beginning her career.
Speaking on the Howard Stern show back in 2018, Gwyneth said that her then-boyfriend, Brad Pitt, threatened Weinstein — with Weinstein saying that Gwyneth was a ‘good friend’ who ‘owes her career’ to him.
‘I don’t know what drove her to do what she did,’ Weinstein told The Hollywood Reporter. ‘To make such a big deal over nothing. I walked out of a nice meeting with her and said, “How about a massage?” And she just went “no, I don’t think so.” I got the message, I never put my hands on her.’

‘She told Brad Pitt. Brad Pitt came to me and said, “Don’t do anything like that with my girl.”’ He continued. ‘I said, “Don’t worry, Brad. I got it.” But then Gwyneth goes on Howard Stern and makes a big deal out of it.
‘She knows that nothing happened. But this person, who was a friend and who owes her career to me, just stabs me in the back. She wanted to be part of the crowd. I won’t forgive her for that.’
Speaking on the Howard Stern Show back in 2018, Gwyneth painted a far different picture of what Weinstein said — saying that after she rejected his advances, she was screamed at by Weinstein for a ‘long time.’

‘I was expected to keep the secret,’ she said, adding that Weinstein was ‘alternately generous and supportive and championing, and punitive and bullying.’
Weinstein was convicted initially in New York for rape and criminal sexual activity, before the convictions were overturned on appeal. A re-trial found him not guilty of rape, and guilty of criminal sexual activity. A third charge returned a hung jury.
He was also convicted of three counts of rape in California and will serve a 16-year sentence in prison once his New York sentence is finished.
