The Prime Minister ditched his planned speech to issue a lengthy apology in an attempt to diffuse fury among his own MPs about Peter Mandelson’s appointment as US Ambassador.
Sir Keir apologised to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and reiterated that he had been lied to by Lord Mandelson about his relationship to the convicted paedophile.
